Salary: $100K+

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Intune to lead and deliver Microsoft 365 projects. This role is centered on security, compliance, data governance, and endpoint management, while also supporting identity, collaboration, and migration initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on expertise designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, compliant, and well‑governed Microsoft 365 environments.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft Purview – Security, Compliance & Data Governance 

• Lead the implementation and ongoing management of Microsoft Purview, including: 
  • Compliance Manager
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • eDiscovery (Standard and Premium)
  • Sensitivity Labels / Information Protection
  • Retention and Records Management
• Define and enforce data classification, protection, and retention policies across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.
• Ensure compliance with organizational, legal, and regulatory requirements, including support for audits, investigations, and legal holds.
• Validate and maintain Purview configurations during tenant migrations and ongoing operations.

Microsoft Intune – Endpoint Management & Modern Workplace 

• Architect, deploy, and manage Microsoft Intune for enterprise endpoint management.
• Configure and maintain: 
  • Device compliance policies
  • Configuration and security baselines
  • Application deployment and lifecycle management
• Design and implement Windows Autopilot for modern device provisioning.
• Integrate Intune with Conditional Access and endpoint security controls to enforce Zero Trust access models.

Identity and Access Management

• Configure and migrate Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) users, groups, and roles.
• Implement secure authentication strategies, including Conditional Access, MFA, Identity Protection, and device‑based access controls.
• Configure Azure AD synchronization with on‑premises Active Directory.
• Implement Single Sign‑On (SSO) and passwordless authentication solutions.

Microsoft Teams Deployment & Migration

• Migrate chat history, channels, voice, and files from other collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack).
• Lead Teams architecture upgrades and tenant consolidations with security and compliance considerations.
• Deploy and support Microsoft Teams Voice.

Troubleshooting, Support & Communication

• Resolve complex issues across identity, compliance, security, and endpoint management workloads.
• Provide detailed pre‑ and post‑project documentation and support.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business, security, and compliance requirements.
• Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Backup, Disaster Recovery, Governance & Adoption

• Implement third‑party backup solutions for Microsoft 365 workloads.
• Design business continuity and disaster recovery strategies aligned with data retention and compliance requirements.
• Develop governance frameworks for Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and endpoint management.
• Drive user adoption and training programs.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering Microsoft 365 services.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with: 
  • Microsoft Purview (DLP, eDiscovery, Retention, Sensitivity Labels)
  • Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Management
  • Microsoft 365 Apps
  • Exchange Online
  • SharePoint Online
  • OneDrive
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Azure / Entra ID
  • Identity & Access Management
  • Security & Threat Protection
  • Microsoft 365 migrations
• Experience creating and maintaining PowerShell scripts for automation.
• Pre‑sales experience architecting, designing, and accurately scoping Microsoft Purview, Intune, and M365 solutions.
• Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS‑900, MS‑700, MS‑100, MS‑101, security or endpoint‑focused certifications).
• Proficiency in Exchange Server and hybrid environments.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in fast‑paced environments while following company standards.

Preferred Experience

• Deep experience delivering Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and endpoint management solutions, particularly in regulated or security‑sensitive environments.
