Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Cyber Security Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our cybersecurity efforts by triaging Tier 1 Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) alerts and responding to phishing emails. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for cybersecurity, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

SIEM Alert Triage:

  • Monitor and analyze Tier 1 SIEM alerts to identify potential security incidents.
  • Investigate and assess the severity of alerts, distinguishing between false positives and actual threats.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts to escalate incidents that require further investigation.

Phishing Email Response:

  • Review and analyze incoming emails to identify phishing attempts and other security threats.
  • Execute incident response procedures for confirmed phishing incidents, including containment and eradication measures.
  • Provide timely and effective communication to end-users regarding security incidents and awareness.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of triaged alerts and incident response actions taken.
  • Generate regular reports on the status of SIEM alerts, phishing incidents, and overall cybersecurity posture.

Collaboration and Training:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cybersecurity awareness and practices.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for end-users on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms and phishing simulation tools.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Cybersecurity or related field and/or equivalent experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools and the ability to interpret security alerts.
  • Knowledge of phishing techniques and strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and personal accountability to drive success.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, customer focus, and professionalism.
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic and continuous improvement mindset.

Physical & Demands

  • This is primarily a sedentary office-based role, involving extended periods of sitting or standing while working at a computer.
  • Regular use of hands, wrists, and arms for typing, mouse use, and interacting with security tools and systems.
  • Ability to view computer screens for prolonged periods to review alerts, emails, logs, and documentation.
  • Occasional walking within office spaces and visits to laboratory or manufacturing areas as part of learning, collaboration, or incident response activities.
  • May occasionally lift or carry lightweight items (such as laptops or peripherals), generally less than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, including during time-sensitive cybersecurity events.

Work Environment

  • The role is primarily based in a professional office environment, with work performed on-site and/or in a hybrid setting based on business needs.
  • The position may occasionally require entry into laboratory or manufacturing areas for observation, training, or support purposes.
  • When entering controlled areas, adherence to safety procedures, gowning requirements, and personal protective equipment (PPE) policies is required.
  • The role operates within a highly regulated environment, emphasizing compliance, documentation, and collaboration with IT, Quality, and Operations teams.
  • This is a fast-paced, learning-oriented environment, with exposure to real-world cybersecurity incidents, audits, and security operations.
  • Noise levels are generally moderate in office settings and may vary in operational areas.
  • Occasional after-hours support may be required during security incidents or system events, with guidance and escalation support from senior team members.
